Has anyone fitted the following remote control unit to their Sleipner Side-Power bow thruster:-

RC-10E Complete kit, Bow/Stern Thruster

If so, do you find it useful, and how much do you use it? Do you think it would it be useful on a single engine shaft drive boat with a bow thruster?

Have fitted quite a few, they are very useful when morning single handed and not a lot of money. Easy to fit as well.

Yep, I fitted the remote, I've got the one that does the bowthruster and the windlass. It's very easy to fit. I used to find it useful when single-handing, and alongside or pontoon berthing. In the med you don't really need it, even when single handing, because once you've got the boat jammed in the gap between the other boats you're all set.

I have the remote fitted to our Squadron 58. It operates the Bow & Stern Thruster and it an excellent piece of kit and would strongly recommend it. I use it to assist in the final stages of mooring by stepping away from the helm and looking over the side to see how close I am from the pontoon.

It's a lewmar, v2/3 I think. The base unit for the remote just had some wires that are connected to the windlass switch at the helm. (I can't remember the precise detail, sorry, I installed it maybe three years ago - but I do remember it being v easy).

Cheers
