Slagging off marine companies

Its only 20th January and already this year there has been serious criticism of Hot Liquid, NBS/BMF, Reliance, noisy marinas, sailing schools, Finngulf/Aboard back in the frame, and the Rocna saga which has been running longer than Coronation Street.

OK, many companies have really screwed up to get themselves into desperate straights.

However, is it any surprise that the marine industry is struggling through a major recession when its customers are so negative in their outlook and push the boundaries with their comments ?

Maybe its just S.A.D.

And as for those magazines ....

The British Marine Industry is one of the best in the world just look at every component on your boat, the clothes you wear and just about every other element to do with boating and it will be British. ..

Is it not OK to slag off bad service?

And to praise good service?

I won't name the poor service from a surveyor I've had the misfortune to do business with recently- yet.

But will praise the service from Ardverk, Bruntons, Kemp and Plastimo.

Edit- I've got to add Yachting Monthly to the good guys list mainly for keeping the Rocna thread going -it must be a huge effort to keep tabs on what is written there and keep things on the right side of the legal line. For me that inspires trust in what I'll read in the magazine.

Problem is it leaves a lot of unemployed British workers, who then don't have the money to buy the items you made in China.

Talking to a American, the big problem they have with China making finished products, is that the firm makes extra items to sell on the Chinese home market. So they end up selling more in China, than the original firm that ordered them.

Sort of loose loose situation.

I don't know if this is still true but the top end stuff was always produced in the uk. I will double check.

But I still maintain we lead in innovation regardless where it's made. Which don't really help ...
