Skomer and Skokholm Islands

Skomer.
South Haven is nice to visit, especially at this time as the Puffins (Pembrokeshire parrots) will be there in abundance. Seals will be there on the rocks.
North haven has 3x visitors mooring bouys. Avoid anchoring closer in as there is an eelgrass bed and the warden will shout at you :-)
Staying overnight can be an awesome experience as the kittiwakes/ guillemots/shearwaters return in the evening. The downsides are...
1. Cleaning the decks in the morning
2. If its a spring tide especially with any North in the wind , North Haven can get very rolly.

Beware the wild goose race & Jack sound at full tidal flow.. it can get very unpleasant.

We stopped at Skomer a couple of years ago - we used one of the visitor's buoys in North Haven and never saw another soul while we were there. We did have a seal try to get into the cockpit in the evening, he bounced off the guard wire and spent the next hour or so barking at us. We also had a bird commit suicide by flying into the mast.

The puffins were a hoot. Well worth the effort.
Followed by a night against the wall in Solva and a fab meal.
