Would recommend the Skipper's bar in Castelsardo Sardinia. Located next to where the boat lift drops your boat . A great place . The two blokes that sing there are fantastic . Plentiful supply of Ichnusa big bottle beer . Microwave pasta extremely tasty . Good Italian Ice cream . Great coffee and croissant in the morning

While you slabber on the antifoul fishermen doing same entertain you with song and friendly banter .
And there is one waitress there who has a Helen of Troy backside .

Forgot to mention that the temperature last week was near 30 degrees.. Great for curing paint whose times based on 20 degrees . Got several coats on in one day however for body temperature sea just a short hop over the harbour wall

Hello thx for the info. I am currently in Bonifacio and am looking for somewhere to leave my boat for July/August, if necessary out of the water. Is Castlesardo a possibility?

Dont Know about out of water but there are spaces . Technique is


They dont answer faxes

Face to face they will say no but try tomorrow
After a week you should be getting some where



The marina is run by a commune of local business men . If they like you you will get in . They dont speak English so use sign language and wave your arms aobut etc


Nice and cheap . should be about 15 to 20 Euros a night

By the way Guipetto does not smile , Guiseppe wears shades and Franco is the Ormeggio . Nice guys though

My conscience is clear . I have already done my bit .

However there's one thing about supporting a cause and protesting but for Geldorf to invite all sorts of nuts to invade our peaceful pastoral scene here and create mayhem is just not on.We already have double security barriers round the Gleneagles estate with a ploughed strip in between in some areas. Some roads are also going to be closed and there are threats of burning lorries on the motorway .
It will be absolute mayhem

While the famous chip shop will do a roaring trade supplying policemen and all and sundry with nourishment the quality will naturally go down.

There are also not enough policemen to keep the peace . They do not have enough Kevlar underpants to go round so in changing shift they will also change underpants so one will smell the law approaching . If it gets too rowdy the farmers will bring out the muck spreaders so things could get even worse

All the auld dearies here are having to take stress councelling . Auchterarder golf club is closed during the event and so no doubt will be the bowling green . Any nocturnal foray in my other roles as prowler and pheasant plucker will no doubt result in me being questioned by the CIA , the SAS and of course the police during the course of the nights .The shops , hotels and pubs as well as the streets will be filled with the world's press so there will not even be elbow room at the bars. I also do not want to be interiewed or even seen on tele in case some old flame spots me and claims maintenance . So I have decided that the safest place to be is else where and watch from a distance . I have already booby trapped my house in case we get squatters while I am away .

The Gleneagles fortifications certainly look impressive from the road. Well, I hope your strawberry patch and raspberries are't trampled underfoot, otherwise we'll never hear the end of it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PS - give us a shout if you're ever bringing your pony and trap through to Stirling, maybe have a pint. Or perhaps best on the Stagecoach.
