I think the ST52 will sell very well like the ST42 because of it's very competitive price - around £530k inc VAT. It has a better layout than the Skagen, having a midships master cabin and 2 guest cabins with 4 single beds which IMHO is the ideal layout for liveaboard cruising. But I have 2 concerns. Firstly, if it's designed for extended cruising why is it only certified to Cat B? Second, the interior finish looks v basic but I suppose that's a function of the price but I can't help feeling that if they'd spent another £50k on the boat, it could have been really attractive. On the outside, though, I think it looks the part of a rufty tufty cruiser and it seems to have some nice features like the portugese bridge, well protected cockpit, side boarding door and the wood panelling on the superstructure looks nice as well
Overall, a v good effort but the jury is out until definitive reports on it's seakindliness come in IMHO
I would also consider the Estensi 530 Maine and 480 Maine, for this kind of boat
the 530 Maine had good success in Italy and if I remember correctly Nautical spoke with praise about them after his visit during Genova 2007 Estensi 480 Maine
I agree. Got some pics. from our local importer and the cushions on the fly look like you'll hurt your as if sitting down too abruptly. But maybe by adding 50k, to the 100k needed anyway for additions, it wiill become a boat. The price is still interesting.
