if I can get near enough to see it. Local paper says 1ktr exclusion another says a mile, here a link showing aprox where she will be going down.

I was just fascinated that my local radio station, Rugby FM, decided that the Scylla was being sunk somewhere in "East Cornwall".
Now since my boat is in Mayflower, Plymouth, I'm getting a bit concerned that they have moved not only the marina, but indeed the whole city, lock, stock & many soon-to-be-drowned barrels from Devon!!!

Keep that Tsunami down chaps!!

It was indeed east cornwall although still only a couple of miles from Mayflower. Quite spectacular, although they had to run through the countdown twice due to a bit of radio channel confusion! Good run out, but my old round bilged yacht got tossed around a bit by the wash from passing speedboats. Anchored up, had a leisurely G&T, and then eventually - KABOOM! Smoked like hell going down, and the melee with everyone suddenly racing home to Plymouth was almost as spectacular as the sinking.

I was rather disappointed. There I was, watching the old wreck intently for the first sign of an explosion (and goodness knows how she got beyond the breakwater without falling over anyway...) and what happens?? Somebody blew up that comparitively smart looking frigate behind me, and Triton of Nor rock and rolled her way home intact!! ;-)
