Mrs Bromleybysea has complained about the galley sink on Duette for some time and I happened to see one of just the right size in Marinestore which I bought and it does look splendid. However, it has a peculiar size "tail" on the waste outlet, which doesn’t match any standard domestic waste pipe. The bloke at the builder's merchants sucked his teeth and predictably Marinestore couldn't help. I need to reduce to a ¾ inch hose tail to fit the pipe that connects with the seacock. In my box of bits at home I found an old plastic washing machine hose tail from 32mm pipe that will slide loosely over the sink waste and thought of using Sikaflex to join them. Would this work? Any other suggestions?

Provided it's all well above the water line then there are no pressure or leak issues with a sink drain so that should be fine. I'm sure you could spend a long time tracking down the right thing and spending ££ to achieve the same result.

That should be fine as long as your not planning to remove it later, you could also use Bostich PU caulking compound, the fast cure one would simplify the job.

Wipe both surfaces clean then a light sand with an 80 grit, another wipe and your ready to go.
