single prop versus duoprop

Ah-ha, yet another aspect I have been considering. When power dropped off, decided to look at turbo's, intercooler, etc., as I was getting black smoke if I tried to increase revs above 2800-3000 rpm. Found port turbo inlet with quite a lot of oil on it, but after some headscratching, found loose clip on intercooler directly above-cleaned oil off, tightened clip,-no more oil. I presume some oil in air to engines is normal, as when I tightened clip I had a look at all other hoses, all of which showed some oil residue(on both engines). But I am sure you are right about air supply being compromised in some way. Btw, cleaned tube stacks last year, but not done since, so will try all you suggest-but don't have any filter elements- only pans- was told this was OK by Lancing.??Max turbo boost last year(at 3500 rpm) was 8 psi stbd, 6 psi port!!!(may have been losing pressure thro loose clips??). Only occasionally ran revs higher but forgot to look at boost guages! Thanks once again for all comments and help- it's much appreciated- don't let that stop you if you think of anything else!!
