Single or Twin Sterndrive?

Last month in my 2006 Targa 34 I was 20Nm out from Sant Carles on my way back from Majorca. Sucked a large piece of Polythene into the port intake which stopped the engine, whilst in reasonably close proximity (1Nm) to three fishing trawlers! Unable to clear blockage, limped back home to the marina! Could not raise anyone on CH16 either. One engine reasonably safe if with some wind/sail but for me two engines for power please.

Thanks for the compliment Ben, from close-up its definitely 'work in progress'

I'll have to give Mermaid a call, have always liked the look of the Steyrs - didn't know they got rebuilt ones. I do like Austrian engineering e.g. KTM

Well, no question that the consensus is to stick with twins - not unhappy with that concept.

Now all I need is a little more power - anyone know if I can modify a fuel injection system from a Volvo 740GLT to fit my AQ171's?

I spoke to them about Steyr's quite some time ago, I knew at the time that they had the occasional ex RNLI units, not sure if its still the case, maybe supply is sporadic.

Yours may well be work in progress, mine is just plain scruffy!
