My Simrad wp10 wheelpilot has stopped working. The electronics seem okay so I think the fault is with the motor. A separate supply to the motor produced nothing. I tried to access the motor and undid all relevant nuts, screws etc. but still could not get to the motor without breaking the casing. Am I missing something any help/advice gratefully received as the only replacement I can find is a Raymarine at silly prices and a more complicated installation. Thanks in advance.

is this the wheel mounted type
if so you have to remove the 2 s/s pins that sit either side of the pedestal

After long struggle got the motor out! As suspected motor seized, Navico don't have spares. I am going to try steeping in thin oil but if that does not work does anybody know who may have spares?

They come up from time to time on eBay either complete or for spares, doesnt help you now but if you like the unit and want to keep it going thats the place to put a search in and wait for the email to let you know when one becomes available. Thats what I did last year to keep mine going.

The other thing to try is a google search on motors often manufactures use off the shelf parts so could be worth a good look around. I found the mini drive belt for the WP10 was a standard belt supplied by a manufacturer just outside New York! cost me 11 dollars delivered to the UK
