Simrad RD68 radio refurb

My RD68 had some data missing from the LCD so I found a source of useful info. by searching on "phone lcd repairs" on Youtube.
I did the job using a proper hot air gun and it worked perfectly! I hope it lasts.
The mic cable was disintegrating so I found a replacement on http://www.kcb.co.uk/shop2/contents/en-uk/d121.html who specialise in all things CB related.
A fellow forumite posted info on how to reprogramme the MMSI code oneself which worked.
So instead of shelling out on a new radio I have resurrected mine for £6.
Result!

Did not work for me because there are various versions of Rd68 some can be reprogrammed some can't
