Having recently acquired a Simrad Tiller Pilot, I now need a 150mm extension to the pushrod. I am staggered at the cost for a Simrad. I noticed that a Raymarine extension is about half the price. Are they interchangeable? Sod's law usually dictates that they are not but here's hoping. I may resort to fabricating my own extended stainless steel mounting bracket.

When my Raymarine tiller pilot burnt out I replaced it with a Simrad TP10.

To accommodate the difference in length I relocated the mounting block; which is simply a block of hardwood, of truncated pyramid shape, drilled to take the socket that came with the TP10.

I've measured the thread OD of a Raymarine TP push-rod as 0.675". A Navico ditto, forerunner of the Simrad at 0.625", ie 5/8"
So on that basis, they're not interchangeable.
The Raymarine OD seems a strange non-standard.

I have a dead simrad 10 which has a 6" extension on it which I will not be replacing,If you remind me what the new ones cost I am sure we can come to an arrangement which will save you the hassle of changing things.Send me a pm with your contact details.
