Hello, I have a cx44 and the screen is flashing white after power is turned on with no information being displayed. Any idea's at all please??? It is fitted onto my X-442 for your info.

Regards,

John.

Not seen this, so can't help directly. Have you tried disconnecting all connections bar the power and trying (in case its a problem on the simnet bus or scanner if you have them). Also try with the C-Map cards removed.

After that, the only thing I can suggest is a 'master reset' - disconnect the power cable and hold PWR+CLR together whilst reconnecting the power and hold them until a picture appears. It reverts everything to factory defaults - but if nothing else is working, its got to be worth a try.

Fingers crossed for you anyway!

I am here looking for a friend who has the same problem.

He is currently out in the med, so without internet.

This is also a replacement unit, the same happened to the one previous.

Hope you guys can help.

Thanks

Thom

Mine failed completely - no life, nothing. Turned out to be a simple fix, if you're reasonably happy checking diodes and FETs. Had to replace a schottky diode. See this thread and feel free to PM me for more info. If it was local to me, I'd be happy to have a look (but I'm not in the Med, unfortunately).

Old thread I know, but I just found it useful.

I had this problem, with the screen cycling from power on, to white, and back again.

Holding PWR and CLR, without disconnecting everything, worked for me.

Just an update for peeps and it avoids dismantling woodwork to get to the back of the unit to disconnect everything.
