we have an old simpson Lawrence two drum rope wind lass which we are going to fit onto a motor boat but only one drum turns there must be clutch some where but on looking inside we cant see a one any one any knowledge of these

the full name of the windlass is S_L frances 400 anchor windlass made by simpson Lawrence Glasgow now out of business

Simpson Lawrence maybe out of business but John at SL spares used to work for them and acquired the spares when it closed. He has a considerable stock in Paisley (i've visited his premises) and he is extremely helpful.
