Simpson Lawrence Windlass - How to operate manually ?

We have a 1 year old Simpson Lawrence electric SL windlass on our boat. It works perfectly under power but I cannot get it to operate manually and don´t have a manual.

Any suggestions?

you should have a chrome plated adaptor with like a pin underneath and the star shape your handle gots into on top.!!!
remove the top plate on your windlass (use handle and turn anti clockwise)and under you should find on the top of the capstan (or what ever its called these days) use the handle to wind the adaptor onto the thread the top plate came of locating the pin in the hole on the capstain this releases the motor clutch from the winch when winding up and down use the ofset star thingy to avoid locking it onto the capstain thingy!! hope this helps (hope i have the right winch!!!)
