I recently got a Silverline multi-tool and the first thing I used was the sanding pad. To use this you ahve to remove the small copper disc that is used when attaching the other tools, as the sanding pad has this built in.

Guess what? The small copper disc is missing and I can't find anywhere to get a spare. Does anyone know where I could get one? I think it is called the 'backing pad washer'

How big is it and how thick is it?

Perhaps you could cut open and flatten a short length of copper tube then cut yourself several. Anneal before use and occasionally after

Alternatively contact Silverline's spares service http://www.toolsparesonline.com/contactus.aspx

AFAICR it is slightly domed and has small locating feet on the bottom. It;s a specialist bit, tiny but essential. Perhaps someone has a dead multi-tool lying around??

If that doesn't work out. Get a Skill one. Far better quality and you can fit tools from Bosch & others. I have the Delta sander and the multi tool from them and well worth the price.

My very imited experience with Silverline is stay away. The hole cutter supplied by a client (who was cost concious..)
did not even attempt to cut the SS sheet he got it for. The teeth just dissapeared. A view common on a another forum that I look at.

Also, I find that spares outfits are quite expensive for the bits. A DeWalt drill conked just out of warranty. OK, I sourced the stator coil that fused. Half the price of the drill, so I binned it. Not impressed by the look inside the drill either. DeWalt has gone down hill a lot.

I've no proof, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the vast majority of power tools are made in a few factories in China, and in two grades, DIY and Professional. DIY has sleeve bearings and the cheapest available other components, professional tools will have half-decent bearings and a bit better quality for the other bits. As for the rest, it's a lottery. Is the factory where your tool is being made having a drive on quality control this week? - lucky you. OTOH, if the drive is cost cutting, if you're lucky, the tool will last the job, provided it isn't too demanding.

I tried a Draper multitool and took it straight back as being a safe toy for a 3 year old. The Bosch professional job I exchanged it for was twice as much, but it's a decent bit of kit.

Just picked up a delta sanding pad and along the rack was a little disc with holes and lugs that was described as an adapter for most multitools. Might be of help? Branded Erbauer and in B&Q (brico depot here, same outfit )
