Not at all cynical - more than one person might want a copy. I have a store of PDFs of various manuals and frequently send copies to people who ask me.

Good for you. And I have one too. But not a PDF. If someone wants a PDF I'll happily pass on your details for you. If they want an original, I'll happily send them mine.
