My Silva Nexus GPS navigator unit comes up with a bus error (02) when the aerial is connected and I suspect the aerial has a fault. Any experts / experience out there? Anybody have a Siva GPS with a different make aerial connected successfully?

Thanks

Yoda

I have a similar problem - existing gps input to nexus server didn't seem to work (no idea whether fault code indicated) and neither did the BR-355 when wired into the server. I used Angus's YAPP wiring box to connect the BR-355 into the Standard Horizon GX2100 so that at least the VHF has gps input and the AIS works. I would be interested in knowing how to test the pushpit mounted gps and how to find out whether there is an error code. All this hardware seems very confusing to my simple mind.

Incidentally, unlike the Navicom RT-650 I previously used, I had to pay £36 to get my new MMSI entered because the GX2100 only allows input once. Navicom seems easier in terms of user interface, too.
