Has anyone tried silicone antifoul? It lasts for 5 years apparently
Its made by Seacoat
They have developed Polysiloxane (Silicone) based hard coatings as a foul release (FRC) bottom paint for all types of boat
Any experience anyone has would be greatly appreciated

I was interested to see at LIBS that Hempel also have a silicon product.
My interest is in propeller/underwater metalwork coating.
It seems that they are planning to release a silicon prop treatment - next year - but they all say this.
Hempel say that it is possible to buy it in large quantities so I challenged him by asking how much.
He said about 600/800 quid so I said "OK I'll have some" and he backtracked.
So still nothing for props yet but silicone paint is worth a try on props - IMO

Have you ever heard of Everwet coating? From what I can see it is like the holy grail for protection but you can't seem to buy it as yet.:( It protects all kinds of surfaces and greatly reduces the need for cleaning.
Have a look at the link below.

International Paints brought one out about 14 years ago called Intersleek which is used on commercial bessels smells like almonds when they apply it . Similar to the stuff they sold for outdrives at one time.

The Condor wavepiercers use it and they reckon it works very well but the boat has be used a lot ( i suppose they manage with 400 miles per day each in the season) or it does not work well.

Its like a soft plastic to touch and can be damaged by bebris quite easily.

Also difficult to recoat .
