OK, I made a mistake a few years ago and used cheapo mastic to seal something on my boat and it's all but fallen out and I need to redo it.

The boat is a Sabre 27, and the hull/deck join has a teak strake all the way along the hull covering that join. I want to seal the gap between the top of the strake and the deck moulding, and the bottom of the wood and the hull moulding. Essentially this equates to 4 Sikaflex "fillets" each 27' long.

Two questions:

1-What is the best grade of white Sikaflex to use?

2-How many tubes do I need?

Thanks!

Remember re-sealing the rubbing strake on my Sabre (Sabreon) in 1995. Cracking boat.

I would suggest around 5 tubes and I would use 291 and a decent gun. If the bead is narrow it is the devil to pump. Better if you warm the tubes first. Freeze any part tubes to keep the stuff fresh.
