Sikaflex and Polyeurethane foam could be boaty..

Hi
Trying to bed down a shower tray with underside of exp PU foam/ or similar high density foam onto a wooden platform faced with formica type facing. Not able to use solvent based adhesive as this will melt the PU foam and non-solvent based adhesive (grab Type) remain soft as there is not enough absorbency in either of the contact materials. With hindsite I should have used plain timber which would have absorbed sufficiently to harden the non solvent based goo but having constructed a solid platform I am reluctant to take it apart and re-route the shower drain access.
Does Sikaflex dissolve PU foam and is this an option-yes i realise it would be there for ever!
 
Polyurethane foam is almost inert. Very few solvents will attack it, and Sikaflex (also a polyurethane) does it no harm. Be sure it is PU though, as polystyrene is a very different animal.

Toolstation do a polyurethane sealant that is very similar to Sikaflex 291 but costs less than £4.
 
PU Foam

If you do want to use PU foam, which would effectively hold the tray in place and fill the void so no water collects unseen, then it will be a question of holding the tray down firmly and intoducing the right amount of liquid into the void, rather than foaming it up then using the foam to "bed down" the tray. The forces are considerable!
 
Thanks for response-some ideas. To be clear it is the underside of the GRP shower tray which looks like it is filled with polystyrene foam, quite dense and pretty smooth finish. I think I need something like a butyl rubber.Sikoflex to bed it down evenly and avoid it creaking when stood upon.
