Goodbye and thankyou to all for the good advice and comradeship. I no longer feel able to contribute. "So what"you may say and you are probably right.

Don't go, I almost made the same mistake a few months ago, why should you leave, just because somebody disagrees with you, thats just too sad, and I don't want you to go! You obviuosly have strong views, but so do other people, please stay.
Might this be a "cutting nose off to spite face" action?......with the work you do, I suspect not many can teach you about patience and tolerance, but do these virtues have to be used 'exclusively' for the the benefit of children?.......

Grin and bear it! There will always be some who have a different opinion from your own, the problem with the forums is there's no body langage and offence is easily taken where none was intended.
We can't afford to lose contributors, especially those who talk sense. Please reconsider.
No No. Thats not what I meant. See kirky no body language or voice tone, makes it all rather difficult. Claymore and I had a "dicussion" once , but now happily, he agrees wholeheartedly with me.<G>
Blimey Kirky. I was busy today and just read that lot! No point in adding to the original, save to say that I have acted like Simon on occasion. Had a giggle when my kids got their own back but then laughed and forgot it. That's what you should do now. Don't go.
WELL kirky or what ever. Was complaining about, or not complaining about. Sprogges. I was just trying to change the subject. ( Only with the best possible intentions). To Dogs. Only so you could get your oar in and complain. And have a row. About the why or wither and the protocol of Dogs. And there place in history. or on boats. SHsh. Lets just have a row about dogs. Then Tother bloke feels allright. Get it!! Now dogs are crap IMHO. cos they've got four legs, no hands no fingers or toe's. They've got teeth. But Tutt's also got them. Theres loads of sea round boats. But dogs to thick to pee in it. I rest my case your honour.
No one can force me to come here-----------

Mother in-law mentioned yesterday that a sailing trip with her sister was once cancelled because the cat, ( who went along too) was seasick....they had to cancel & return home.
Mind you, she also warned me that seasickness could be fatal,so there.
Joining the many who have encouraged you to NOT SIGN OFF.
Why should you? This forum is as divers as the real world. It gives us an idea of what characters to expect out there when we are sailing. And hoestly I'm looking forward to meet many of them. (not all).
Looks like we all have to live with each other, no matter if at this forum, or at sea or in harbour or elsewhere. And I'm sure you don't want to sign off from sailing.
And by the way, you are most welcome alongside our boat, and so are your kids.
If you see a 49ft cutter with the name Taniwani, don't hesitate.
Looks like you've gone, I sent you a PM aswell, sad loss, but there it is! If you ever get down to the med and see a big wooden ketch called Englander, come and say hello, you may find her festooned with kids aswell!
