Although providing a good dit for the bar, my recent adventure back across the Channel from Cherbourg in a Force 9 gale has left me with a major headache!

The triangular plate to which my forestay and D ring for the tack of the headsail attach to now only consists of an attcahment for the forestay! The D ring deciding to break away. Fortunatly I do have both parts so a fix maybe possible however I'd rather replace the deck fitting.

Is anyone aware of any place that I may be able to get another exact deck fitting from for my Sigma 33?

Re: Try...

We have a Sigma 33 and live in Plymouth. The fitting you describe is prone to failure - its mentioned on the Sigma Association Website. I don't believe that Marine Projects will have one in stock (I might be proved wrong, but I'm not holding my breath!). They will get one fabricated/make one and charge you accordingly. IMHO and if it were me, I'd take it off and either get a stainless fabricator to make up a whole new one or weld the old one back together. You don't say where you are on your details, but here in Plymouth there are several places who would do a good job for a few quid. PM me if you want recommendations. (They'll polish it up as well and it will show up all the other fittings)
