Anybody else go.?
~By virtue of some after 3pm tickets and a couple of website £5.00 ers took the family to Southampton.
Really nice weather, lots of boaty paraphernalia that nobody would give that much for and stuff you will be never able to afford.
Pair of much reduced saily type boats for £300 quid anyone.
Pleasant day out.
LIBS here we come.

Actually had a great day with visiting friend from Norfolk.
New Sealine C330 looked interesting. Very contemporary but not sure about quality? Should be OK as now German.
New Greenline 36 looks a bit sharper in style but sadly did not make it to the show.
New Sheerline 1090HT was lovely and light and bright and with a stonking 300hp engine should be OK for a run to East Coast.
Invictus 240FX was lovely quality and style AND had an electric loo and holding tank tucked under the helm console. Not bad for a "walk around" speed boat!
Bought a new set of fender ropes!!!

Just cant warm to the new Sealine Range, must be getting old...They just look like caravans. Sharp edges on boats is just a no no in my book.

Good show on the ropes, standards must be upheld!

I went on Friday. It's huge. Ended up walking 11km according to my phone. I loved the Botnia Targa's, not pretty but highly functional. I was surprised how much I liked the English Harbour. Didn't seem as tall as it does in the pictures and had a great cabin. I avoided buying any fender ropes...

A shadow of its former self sadly. Empty pontoons and attendance well down even with heavily discounted tickets. Maybe its had its day and needs a change of formula. Or of course it could just be me!

Well I thought it was showing signs of being on the up. Whilst the entrance area seemed reduced (it goes completely next year I understand) once you were across the bridges it was fine. When I was there, there were plenty of people around and lots to see. From talking to a few exhibitors behind the scenes they also gave a positive feedback with actual sales at the show being up (sales as opposed to pre-arranged "contract signatures" )

Seemed a good year to me

Went last Thursday, it was a bit sparse compared to previous years and the food available was awful as it has always been, but still a great day out.
Boat of the show for me was the Marex 375, twin shafts on vee drives giving 34knts, a fantastic layout all on one level greats for the river and sea. And a brilliant canopy system that was hidden away in vertical lockers and just pulled out and around the cockpit minutes! Also fenders in lockers built into the deck, just lift the lid flick them over. Small problem of £300K though :(

any folks go to the secondhand show at Swanick ?
Was going to pop over but due to the appalling traffic on the M25,the road past Guildford etc, took nearly four hours to do the blimming 120 miles to the show.
Was too dark to continue on elsewhere ... :(

Did look at what they had on sale and it was mostly boats with flappy things so didn't bother.

We went to Southampton on Saturday and we both left a little disappointed. We both thought it had gone down hill since we last visited a few years ago.

That said we did have a nice couple of evenings away in a lovely little hotel in Hythe, had a look at plenty of expensive boats and came away with a few bits and bobs that we had been looking for, mainly a couple of new sail cloth bags.

A nice change but we probably won't go again for a few years now.

Yes we went. not sure what it was all about. it was not a used boat show at all, it was just a group of brokers in the same place they usually are but they had put up a sign saying 'used boat show'. we looked on one boat that was on the hard and wanted to look at another in the marina but all the pontoons were closed and there was nobody to escort us so we didn't even see the other boats.
Nice bar though.
If you went there today you would not be treated any different.
