It's less than a month away, just received PSP's 2 for £22 offer through the door this morning, and yet years ago there seemed to be loads of freebee tickets about, are the complementary ticket days finished? or only for boat buyers?

2007 - plenty of freebees about. 2008 - less and more difficult. 2009 - couldnt get any - 2010 - no one even talking about any! Either they are genuinely a thing of the past (as you say unless you are about to buy something) or I have slipped outside of the circle!

I received my two complimentary tickets yesterday, thanks to the MBY subscription offer..!

There were 2 options: Subscription less 25% or subscription less 10% with 2 free boat show tickets. No brainer!:)

Oh yes, I get an exhibitors pass - but then I have to be there for 10 days! I can tell you that by the end of it I would have happily just paid for a single day.

You should see the exhibitors go demob happy from about 14.00 on the last day - :D

UP DATE

I settled for the fact there are no freebees and went to the website to order tickets armed with the 2 for £22 code, only to find Concession tickets for old farts ..... sorry over 60's £10.50p no code required if I was still a resident of the city it would have been free, to think I moved out and into the new forest to save money all those years ago.

Ah well it's £21 for the two of us + £1.25 for something else,(Transaction fee) how come it's never what they say it is

transaction fee, I had my online bank open on another tab, the money was gone within 20 seconds, how come the tax payer had to bail these Shylock's out they aren't shy about making profit.

It just so happens that I have the 1976 Show Guide in front of me at this moment:

Admission: 50p
Children: 25p
OAPs: Free (and no question of where you live!)
Show Guide (240 pages, A5): 30p

Surprising how much difference 34 years can make!

If you want to attend the show on more than one day, it is worthwhile signing up as an international visitor at the booth just inside the main entrance.

You do need to bring a passport photo along with you, which they then laminate into a pass which you have signed, and this is a pass for multiple entry thereafter.

The last time I attended though was in 2007, but I am sure the system is still the same.
I would like to go this year, but plane fares are expensive......

So I am working on going to Seawork (www.seawork.com) next year in June instead.
(And Seawork has free entry - but no posh motor yachts on display, only working boats)

I was earning 50p an hour, petrol was 50p a gallon... I think I was at the show that year as well!

I'll go for a couple of days I guess to see whats new and get a feel for who might do best in 2011.
