We have a Cadet 2.6 with slatted floor, and it easily stowed away in our locker.I don't have any rowlocks I think we were supplied with the wrong ons and they fell out.

We replaced it in the summer with a nice new HonWave with a pump up V hull. The problem is it will not fit in our locker and takes about 1/2 an hour to pump up and 45 minutes to deflate and is now lashed to the deck. Worse still it is so heavy I can't lift it on board myself, it takes two people.

I hold my breath every time I return to the boat wondering if it is still going to be there.

Now I am wondering which one to sell, it is heart breaking to loose so much money on a two month old dinghy.

Well I reckon my 5 year old Zodiac is fabulous, except......

I am totally P****d off with the rowlock pin thinghys.
They are C**p!
They bend, pull out and are naff at keeping the blade of the paddle upright in the water.
I have a friend who has just replaced his for the third time, this time with the newer version....... C**p!
I flew out with them to Turkey and by the end of the week one of them was snapped.
My pal is 73 and not known to be reckless or savage with his gear and we are both more than a little cross.

Why cant manufacturers who produce a basically good inflatable get things that might risk life and limb strong and safe!!

Have you considered buying an electric pump? Makes a world of difference inflating/deflating, but won't help with the handling i'm afraid. Using a bridle and halyard to get it onboard is the best method i find.

I sold a 2 year old Honwave 27IE for £5 less than I paid for it. I put it on Ebay with lots of pictures and it sold first time. I saw a New Honwave 27IE on offer at £665 the other day and thought Wow, that looks cheap. I agree they are heavy. I am looking at a 270 again now but thinking of the new Quicksilver 270 Airdeck Deluxe as it weighs 6KG less. Mind you the Honwave was very solid...just too heavy. Quicksilver also do the new Lightweight range and a friend bought the 250 and it is great and only 35KG! I also have an old 2m inflatable that I keep stored away.
