Shroud rollers

Hi
Can anybody tell me where to buy the plastic rollers used to protect the genoa and its sheets when tacking. I need the type you can fit with the rigging up. I have tried searching on the net but only come up with the Force4 type. The one's I have seen have a blue? conical top.

There are the snap together shroud covers and these Sail chafe protectors and here

now I spotted something amazing at Cowes this year - I wish I knew where to get them, this is a much neater solution. The wheel is fitted within the stanchion, just brilliant!!!

Since the thread title is shroud rollers I suspect you mean this kind of thing.

We went for a loose fit to allow 'roll' - also easier to fit

I decided I wouldn't have them on Jissel because I figure the shrouds are my last hope on my way over the side and the last thing I want is for them to spin under my hands!

Yes I know I should be clipped on, and I "always" am, but there's always that time when, for whatever reason, I won't be, which is when sod's law has it's chance.

I am considering the wheel types though.

I don't have shroud rollers but I wouldn't let Steve's point put me off. Your hand will slip round a naked shroud too. The larger diameter of the roller might actually be easier to grip.

B&Q sell lengths of clip on white plastic about a yard long designed to make your central heating pipes look smart. I put these round the shrouds secured with a bit of tape top and bottom. They easily last a season and are much cheaper than the real thing.

I used 6ft lengths of thin bore plastic piping from B&Q. Slit down the side with a stanley knife, they don't need tape. Cost a bit over a pound a time. I didn't put one on the aft lowers so there is something to grab hold of that doesn't rotate.

If you buy some don't use the plastic clips provided to hold them on. They come off when faced with a flogging genoa shortly followed by the wheel itself. Use cable ties instead.
