I have a Bramber combination trailer for my Cornish Shrimper and would like to know if anyone has fitted keel rollers to the launching trolley instead of the wooden guides provided. Rollers would make recovery easier I imagine plus allow access to the bottom of the keel for antifouling. Would the extra height, only a few inches, affect stability when towing?
Also has anyone found a simple way of fitting guide bars such as Floatem Poles to the trolley to assist in recovery?

I used to have rollers on my Bramber Combi trailer from new when I had a Shrimper. The extra height gave better rear view visibility when towing. I never got round to fitting guide bars. I used to only partly submerge the trolley enough to get the bow on the first roller and winch her up. Not too easy in a tide way though.

Thanks. I'll probably fit rollers. I'm still working on how to fit guide bars, easier said than done I think.

I fixed HDPE sheet to the surface of the base of the wooden keel support and this has made it much easier to slide the boat on, and means that there is none of the point loading that rollers can cause, and it only raises the boat by 8mm. I have a V shaped guide right at the back end of the trolley which allows me to locate the boat more easily than just having the wooden strips on the sides. In the technical section of the a Shrimper Owners Association there are number of articles on trailers.
