For the avoidance of doubt, the speed limit applies to all of the Test and Itchen, upriver from a line that runs from Hythe Pier, across Weston Shelf Buoy and continues to Weston Shore. There are exceptions to this that apply to water skiers in certain areas and other vessels with the consent of the Harbour Master.

From a slightly different perspective...taken last week ...can't quite see my boat in the haze at Port Solent, however funnily enough it was not moving at the time

Not exactly my wake but SS Natchez in New Orleans a week or so ago. 26t paddle wheel - interesting wake and one of a very few proper steam paddle steamers on the good ol' Mississippi. Good day out and I spent most of the time working out how they manoeuvred it.

My old boat, at about 50mph (Fletcher 165 with 1979 I6 Mercury 140hp on the back)
The three boats in the background are a few other forum members here who couldn't keep up

I was not the only one left gasping in your wake, I could name at least 2 more. I think I was the nearest to keeping up, or was that wishful thinking
