sorry for being unhelpful by posting films of mobos

you say unfounded

but the prejudice is founded on the sort of stuff in the films

all I do is film what comes sweeping past an old bloke in a small boat

and in a few years, once those mobos are classics, people will love the films of them in action as much as they love the films of the barges, wherrys and folkboats

thanks for watching the films so carefully

there are 250 films on the website now

well over 16 hours of sailing films

the sailing boats are usually filmed doing what they were designed to do


but blimey, posting a few minutes of mobos doing what they were designed to do really seems to upset people

and even a modest wake from a 25 footer gives us a jolly good shaking

However since leaving the Orwell I hardly ever see them

rare as hens teeth in the Waswh and around North Norfolk

too far from their homeland

its the prejudice that irks a tad. By all means shake your fist at irresponsible individuals who I in no way defend but leave me alone when I creep into an anchorage at 3 knots and still get it, just cos I have engines.

Yes it has happened more than once, no not you personally (as far as I know), no I am not tarring all sailors with the same brush.
 
Ironically our race boat attracts waves from almost everybody - could be something to to with the cheery wave emanating from behind the 1/2" windscreen?

Of course it could be that sailors are waving in pity because of the bashing they think we're getting! :D

No I said "often unfounded" Dylan, firstly let me say that I generally enjoy your films immensely, and though I can understand you filming $hit for brains idiots that hammer through moorings in whatever craft it happens to be, I don't think that it's always helpful, there is a certain type of person that will leap on these incidents and try to make capital from them, in my view that helps no-one. I am a dyed in the wool raggie, but I know full well that the vast majority of mobo owners behave perfectly properly, and don't forget, us raggies have our own fair share of dipsticks too.

It seems to me that if both camps just stopped slagging each other off at the slightest opportunity, the world would be a much nicer place. Having a laugh or a joke is one thing, but perhaps it should be remembered that one mans joke is another mans insult, and saying that if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen isn't helpful either.

Some of these comments are directed at some of the mobo fraternity on here, some are directed at raggies. They are not all directed at you Dylan, so don't go and spit yer dummy out of the pram.:D

Anyway, sorry gents for the Fred Drift, I am afraid it was my fault really.

Dylan, there was a subtlety in Chrusty's message, not a have a go. You can come across anti mobo, but I know that in 1:1 exchanges with you that you're a really balanced guy - and the films are great. Hey this exchange will get lots more mobos looking at them and that's a good thing isn't it :)

Until they see the one where Dylan makes vomiting sounds at the sight of a mobo (mooerd up so not actually making much wash)
if that isn't sweeping prejudice I don't know what is.
I also enjoyed your other films Dylan and also like the kind of places you do, but the anti mobo rants are a bit cheap and add nothing.

Yes I have seen that one, and I think it would be best if Dylan ditched it, it don't do us raggies any favours Dylan.:)
