Information on the British Rowing website re EA registration charges shows that from 1st April this year, rowing club coaching and rescue launches will pay a registration fee of £35 (previously they were exempt).
In Apollo's absenseit seems a bit cheap, for my 2m tender with titchy outboard it will still cost £41.50 and thats with the half price discount!
One could argue that, if a fair pricing system exists, there should be absolutely no justification for any discounts on the published rates.
There I go, dreaming again .........![]()
Hmm, a discount for registration of multiple boats... like cruisers now get for a tender?
Wouldn't it be better to call for a discount if a boat club collected all the registration fees? ( I bet club treasurers would hate the job though!).

May be a misunderstanding here. The coaching and rescue craft referred to are the regular river based ones belonging to the rowing clubs themselves.Hmmmm.....as a charity I am not very happy that rescue launches now have to pay £35.
We'll just pass it on to the organisers but it is another barrier to these events having decent levels of safety cover and marshalling.

I don't quite understand why you think that a rescue boat should be exempt? If its being used on the river then some sort of license charge should be expected, and at £35.00 it is a very nominal charge. Considering how many people would benefit from the service, recouping this charge would surely amount to pence per person...

I can assure you now that 100 scullers won't fit on one 6m rib!![]()
