Should I try the SOF this winter?

Looking at those currently for sale, beam [as stated] seems to vary from 3.59m, through 3.70 to - I grant you - 3.96 in the usual delightfully imprecise boat market way. It's probably as wide or as narrow as anyone wants it to be. :D

Not yet.
But you should look into one of the new small seakeepers, under the saloon steps, which you want to rebuild anyway :-) Would be a very neat upgrade

400kg though. If it was 100kg, then maybe, but 400kg on an 8t boat is too much. (When did I say I wanted to rebuild those steps? I really like em as they are now).

JTB, why not do the work down there and save £10k in transport costs towards some extra goodies for the boat... £10k would pay for some of a hi low platform....

It's (broadly) cost neutral to bring it back, because of the cost of all the trips up and down that would be needed, plus the rental income in PV vs the cost of storage in Southampton, and the SoF cost loading. Plus it is loads easier to manage the project when the boat is just an hour down the road.

The Rose´ aint as good in Southampton though...

Is that because you are using Antibes based marine engineers? Might want to check out some of the other marine engineers further east with hard standing facilities?
