I once asked Bradwell if they would get a webcam so we could see what it looked like before we left home. They replied "If we did that you'd never bloody come here!"

Matt,
I have found that the Shotley weather station often shows wildly improbable maximum wind speed, earlier in the year it showed around 100knots one day !!!
Last time we had winds of that sort of speed was the so-called hurricane in 1987.
I did see you have a good blast yesterday though, looked exciting.
Perhaps the weather info from Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club is more reliable. The web cam shows the bar in the distance which can be interesting http://www.ffsc.co.uk/ffsc/ffscweather1.htm
I am sure you already know that the Harwich Harbour Authority www.hha.co.uk have the windspeed & direction for Shotley & Landguard.I usually compare this with the Shotley Marina one & Languard always seems to have more wind than Shotley. Not surprising really.
