Shotley etc -food

Was in the Shipwreck two weeks ago, but deliberately not eating, still a very uninspiring and expensive menu, as were the drinks (3 for £10).

Contrast with the Lightship at Levington, where the drinks were reasonable (3 for around £8) and the limited menu was very good

Good quality food being used from Suffolk Food Hall now.

Certainly improved from the early months after Sarah's departure, but the welcome not quite the same.

Beer generally is expensive but they had Tolly Roger on last weekend @ £3.00 pint.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that, the bar staff do give the impression of everything being a bit too much trouble....

Sorry, only repeating my recent experiences over last two visits. When someone servers me at the bar, I have no idea whether they are manager or bar staff. Both of these were female and I thought bar staff

Maybe it is my magnetic personality, but I have always found the general bar staff to be pleasant and efficient, the managger varies.

Yes thoroughly enjoyed it.

Suffolk Food Hall produce certainly there was not a Walls Banger in sight.

On the subject of breakfast on the East Coast, had one at The Last Anchor week before last and that too was very good. The Cafe at Heybridge also does an excellent Breakfast.

Another good place for breakfast is Woodbridge, choice of 2 venues, the cafe in the Station building, and the cafe on the quay in a caravan which does a terrific English with a choice of large or small depending on your appetite.
