Hello,

We need to keep a 39 foot (2.4m draught) yacht somewhere around Hamble/Southampton for April and May.

Budget is very tight - anyone know of any sublets, or other cheap suggestions?

Cheers,
Ric

Talk to hamble harbour master, you could leave her on the visitors moorings for that amount of time.

I should think other cheapo options might be found on the River Itchen esp if you can take mud.

The pontoon is therefore around £400 for 4 weeks for an 11m boat - Hamble Yacht Services only charge £450 per month for the same boat in their marina. (I use 'only' in the loosest sense!)
So not that much saving, esp when you take into account getting to and from the pontoons vs marina access and use of the marina facilities.

All in all its not a cheap place to leave your boat! Ours is there until we have time off work to move her - can't wait!

Thanks to everyone...

Hamble HM, a chap called Ray Williams, was very helpful. Offered £171.60/month (inclusive of VAT, harbour dues etc) for a pile mooring (with pontoon). Can't see us finding anything cheaper that that.

Cheers,
Ric
