Any personal recommendations for good shorebased YM/Coastal Skipper courses? A friend has asked me, and I am not sure who to recommend. I went to Southern Sailing for mine, around 1990, and I was perfectly happy with it. A couple of years ago, I went back for a practical course with Southern, after a long absence from sailing due to illness, and I was very much less impressed with them.
He is interested in an intensive one-week course. He has a Day Skipper certificate, and has been sailing and cruising for a number of years.
