Shore power keeps tripping

Sometimes the RCD breaker on the boat panel goes faulty .
We had one on a house , the dinning room one keep tripping for no designable reason .Yes the chandelier was checked , bulbs connects etc , switches swapped .Turned out it was the breaker itself .
Because it was one of many in a box , if you manually tripped the switches you could just discern it had the weakest spring tension to turn it on .
A sparky simply replaced it .

Nothing visibly wrong with the thing in hand compared to its replacement except as I said it had a weaker spring action .

Yes but if he has tried different socket that counts that out, it could be the tripping curve of the breaker or in your world dead rise . Lol

I’m sat here waiting to see if the OP has isolated the water heater and found the fault but he has gone very quiet so i’m hoping he hasn’t electrocuted himself now !

I’m sure it is the element, mechanic reversed the cables in the shore power and it worked straight away however turn the water Hester on and it blew again so going down today to disconnect it.

I did look for it yesterday in the engine room and under the sofa in the living room but couldn’t find it

If anyone can advise where it is on a Camargue 51 please??

Is it 16 or 32a . If it trips at random times ,start and make a list what is switched on at the time of trip . To tell if it’s the rcbo just plug into another socket ,if it still trips it’s on the boat. Does it ever do it when you are in bed.

Yes....it has to be rigid and millimeter precise. As well as being perfect for getting out the element in situ ...it happens to be also great for removing the round plastic lid on the black tank

It was a quickly made tool...that still has its integrity today....my welding wasn’t for critiquing

sorry going off topic once more, but why would you do that to yourself? Haven't dared opening the black water tank lid since installing it 7yrs ago...
