A few years ago I made up a new shore power cable using some "arctic cable" I bought from Ebay. It proved to be a complete failure! The cable is quite stiff when in a warm environment and almost unmanageable in the cold. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy some good quality flexible three core cable?

This should not be so! The whole point is that so called arctic cable should be useable down to -40C
ITYWF that Screwfix and Toolstation both sell arctic grade cable,

However strictly speaking the so called arctic cable is not approved for 230 volts at low temperatures

HO7RN-F, a heavy duty chloroprene sheathed cable, is the preferred type ............ but everyone uses "arctic" cable

I bought a 100m reel, quite possibly from TLC, made up several leads. Two of them were outside, exposed, part length in water (but protected from physical impacts) for 10 years. Still flexible, sound, not corroded after 10 years. Yes, in sub-zero temperatures they were a bit stiffer than in summer. That is to be expected. They were nicely flexible at normal UK temperatures.
Buy cheap, buy twice.

I have standard domestic white 3 core stranded cable runs from the house down the garden to my Summer Mobile ... that's about 40m .... then from the mobile - another length of same cable to BBQ area ... then to pontoon for boat power.... another 15m. The boat has various length cables - and adaptors all but one are same cable. The one different is a cable I bought from caravan shop in UK that originally was red ... but over the years has changed colour to black !

That cable has been out there for over 7 years now .... every spring I say I will replace with a buried cable ... but never do.

Its survived -30C winter .... +30C summer ....

It was about half the price for the same thing from a swindlery.

I've been saying Caravan dealers for various stuff on threads for years .....

Gas fittings / pipe
Plumbing / water items / gaskets
Pumps
Toilet stuff (bio)
Telescopic hatch arms
Cupboard latches
Solar items
Lamps
Battery management / charger panels etc.
Switch panels

The list goes on ...

Bought one of these last year as a spare, at the price probably cheaper than a couple of connectors. A number of members on Canal world bought them, the only problem experienced was some needed the cable reseated into the connector body and the gland tightened up. Its rubber covered cable, cannot remember the spec.
Caravan, Motorhome & Boat 230V / 240V, 25m Mains Lead Hook up Cable 25 Metre | eBay

Caravan dealers also have the Y lead adaptors to allow two boats to one main socket ..... handy when its a popular meet !!

Have bought this Artic cable off eBay twice Arctic Blue Yellow 3183 AG Flex Cable 3core 1.5, 2.5, 4mm Caravan Camping Artic | eBay

Been excellent, much more pliable in Scottish winters than a typical chandlery or caravan shop cable. And doesn’t leave black marks on the GRP like the original manufacturer supplied cable.
Benefit of buying cable and wiring yourself is can choose the length you want - think of a length and add 10m :)
