\"Shore\" Entertainment

I know its not everyones cup of tea but I love live music.

We often go to the Anchor pub at Cowes and enjoy the bands but there must be other places with entertainment.

I have heard suggestions of dancing on the tables at the Folly Inn - do they have a saturday night band?

Can others suggest good places in Solent /Poole for sat nite.

Re: \"Shore\" Entertainment

The folly is generally a one man band, well he strums the guitar and sings and the electronics do the rest. Very entertaining evening. I would highly recommend it.

Re: \"Shore\" Entertainment

Now I remember a girl I met in the Anchor on a saturday night when a band were playing. There was our crew, 14 mateloes, and not many others, then walked in a hen night...

Oh yeah.

Re: \"Shore\" Entertainment

Ok so Folly Inn on list is there nowhere else in Lymington, Poole or Yarmouth. Any in Portsmouth - either side? Any up the Hamble or near Ocean Key in Southampton Please?

Re: \"Shore\" Entertainment

I think in Hamble somebody will complain if there is anything louder than a jukebox.
Pubs are too close to houses, unlike the Folly where there is only a caravan site.
Anyway really loud music and dancing stops the punters from spending loadsamoney on food :-)

Loads of live music in Portsmouth/Southsea (student land ),try along the Albert Road .The Royal Marine Artillery Tavern on Cromwell Road (10min walk from Eastney Marina) most Saturdays evenings thru summer has good musicians and real ales, also ,on Sunday afternoons from August if you are weather bound ,my mate Banjo Nick plays the Jolly Sailor on Southsea Common, every rugby song you thought you knew the words to...and then some.
