In my experience the only problem with maintaining adequate power for starting and leisure is centred completely on whether or not you have a gas fridge. All electric is nicer, and I accept is now the way forward in boating, but I have always had gas / electric types of fridges and have never had problems relating to power (unless a battery simply dies - as we all do at some point). I have 2 engines, no generator and run a 19" TV/DVD along with all the usual showers, lights etc.
