Shipwright’s Arms, Faversham/Oare Creek

I recently spent the night there on someone's mooring and them scrotes did not relieve me of the dinghy I was towing. Had I known of this sad episode I would have slept very nervously. I was tempted to head for the Ferry House as the tide bar on the Ferryman's side was too high so rather relieved that I did not give in to the temptation.
At higher tides it would be easier to tie up at the boat yard behind Ferryman's, I would think, rather than attempting a return down the muddy bank under the influence

Reguard the 'scroats' understood to be active in stealing /taking Dinghys ; never lived on the Island , but lived on the Mainland quite close to ; the reputation of theiving on the Island was quite rife back in the 60s ; reminded me of a fairly regular occurance up in Suffolk , when we were living up there , we were fairly isolated , on an Estate , we moored our Dinghys up each evening above the High Tide mark ; well when we heard heard Hollsey Siren sounding off , in the mornings , we knew that we had better check our Dinghys out ; sure enough at least one was missing , we wailted untill that days High Tide and searched the opposite shore with Binos ; sure enough we found our lost dinghy , floating high on the Tide up above the saltins , so t'was easy to row over and recover it ; Just a thought , maybe (locals would know?) dinghys being taken from remote parts of the Island (Grain) landing up on the Faversham side of the Swale , are actually Prisoners or Others wanting to get off the Island without being noticed , or recorded on CCTV etc ? as the only way on /off the Island is by way of the Bridge , which I guess , is monotored very closely , owing to the Prison on the Island ?
