I have the usual standard pair of matching barometer & ships clock on the bulkhead but the clock wasn't working when I bought the boat. I noticed that you can pay a considerable sum for a pukkah clock and therefore bought a reduced-price (€5) clock from Lidl and removed the innards. A five minute job with a dremel tool to get the old hands to fit and Bob's your uncle...

It's a bit of a bummer to think that whatever the outside, and how much you pay for it, the innards are almost exactly the same mass produced unit from China.

Yes, that's the one! Though with postage and conversion to Euro, the Lidl clock was still cheaper!

Don't remember that thread, sorry if I re-invented the wheel :)

When my clock failed it also had a cracked glass. I found that 100mm quartz clock mechanisms complete with face, hands and curved "glass" were available from a specialist clock supplies company. One fitted neatly inside the brass case of my clock.
