Shipping movements worldwide.

I've always been interested in Shipping Movements in and out of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (my home port), which until recently had always been well publicised in the local newspaper under "Port Authority News".
Since the opening of a new outer harbour at Great Yarmouth, shipping movements no longer appear in the newspaper which stated they were discontinued for commercial reasons.
Shipping movements for all British ports and also much of the World's shipping areas can be seen thro' http://www.marinetraffic.com
I wonder if many other shipping enthusiasts like myself were unaware of this site and would find it of interest.

And if you "Google" the following:

"Google Earth Marine Traffic"

you can download a KML file which, and if you run it, it will add Marine Traffic onto Google Earth on your PC and you can follow ships tracks over the past 24 hours.

Here in Hull the shipping movements were in the local paper every night, with the ships expected printed once a week. Unfortunately also due to "commercial reasons" it was stopped many years ago. Fortunately now we can access the Humber ports lists for movements due during the day - but no long advance notice.

NO.....That happens when you completely choke up your bandwidth by tracking all the passenger planes flying over Europe as well.
