I'm heading back to my boat in Greece soon but would like to ship some antifouling paint out there in advance.
Can anyone recommend a courier/shipper to handle this please ?
My last shipment of epoxy products took forever and a day so I'm looking for a more reliable company.
Thanks in advance.

Just FYI:

I ordered EU45 antifoul from their site (UK managed) - they ship 'anywhere' from their stock or the plant in Spain.

Not related, just happy with the product for my use in DK waters. At £59.99 for 2½ liter with 45% copper it is even competitive.

Why bother? Over the past ten years I have used a wide variety of antifoulings, including EU45. I cannot say that any of them were markedly better or worse than any other, although some were x4 more expensive. This year I have used local Greek A/F which has been just as good as the expensive ones imported from UK.

Exactly my experience - I used local AF from Thessaloniki, 2.5 litres €26 - after 2 months of use as clean as when it went on.
Cruiser Uno by International was €75 for a similar amount.

One drawback - only available in red or black.

I found TCS, Essex good on cost of antifouling and also on rates for shipping.
This year I needed to ship engine parts and other gear so used Ship 2 Ship. The package arrived late which added pressure to the pre-launch and was damaged, probably the result of poor courier service from Athens to Kilada. Will not use this company again.

Thanks to everybody for your replies. I'm still weighing up the pro's and con's but I was already thinking along the same lines as Vyv and Charles, local and cheap !!

Yep been here since 1991 ,the local stuff is as good as the fancy named ones. And if you are in the know, there are some better

I agree use the local stuff. served me well for four years at a fraction of the cost of branded products.

I assume by better you mean - illegal? And if so PM me where I can get some too. Oooh that'll upset the tree huggers!

I've never used the same antifouling twice. I've used Seajet, Hempel and most other brands but not International due to price. In the Med none of them have faired particularly well especially in the second year. Last year I put on some cheap as chips Turkish antifouling and I got what I paid for. The worst antifouling paint I've ever used. So not all local paints are just as good as the branded stuff in my experience.

Maybe iffy on yachts, but okay on ferry boats and tankers

Fouling differs from location to location. Places near river outlets feed one population of fouling; cities like Marseilles, Naples, Genoa, Palermo or Izmir another; while many Aegean and Croatian islands with rocky shores and brilliantly clear waters feed very few critters.

The only remaining certainty is that tidal Europe, with lots of rain washing mud into the seas, an enormous intertidal zone and colder waters is going to breed a very different mix of nasties . . . compared to the Baltic or Med.

Locals use the most cost effective treatment for their circumstances. Follow their lead.

I had been using EU45 for some years and had it shipped to Messolonghi in Greece for several years. 2 years ago i had a problem with a batch sent along with another person and Bill from EU45 sorted the problem out by sending me another tin. last year I tried ordering again, he phoned and said they could not longer ship to Greece - something to do with their courier company being unable to send paint to Greece....................Their web site does not state that they can't ship to Greece so I guess he got fed up with me !! Now using local Greek A/F

Anyway, going back to the OP, unless I'm missing something obvious, there is a company (man with a truck?) that does regular deliveries to/from Corfu, and is far cheaper than the usual companies. If you're anywhere near, or passing through Corfu, I can pass you his details.

Really? Sounds good - I'm scratching my head about how to order and get a Torqueedo to Corfu in the next couple of weeks as the UK chandlers won't/can't deliver the battery abroad.

From a post on my website, winter 2011/12; no reason to believe they've stopped:
