Shipmate rs 8300

Hi all,
Does anybody out there know of a person/company that can refurbish or replace the cable on my Shipmate RS 8300 VHF radio ?

Have you tried Googling. I had a quick Google and quickly came up with 3 business's in Bristol that service Simrad. Not sure where you are based, but give it a go and see if anything sensible comes out. There appears to be an 8300 on E Bay too. Not looked at it, but might be a source of spares?

Had mine replaced by a company in Port Solent, can't remember there name but very helpful if that helps

It was a long time ago but I think we bought replacement connectors from RS Components and just soldered them on

I had mine updated to new software and MMSI number inputed and although back in 2006
the company still appears to be at that address, acording to Google.

I have just rang them and they say that parts are no longer available. But, they did give me a number of a company called "the service center" in wareham. I will call and update, watch this space !!
