Ship to Ship VHF

If in range the VHF signal can be triangulated giving quite an accurate position. It used to be used all the time in aviation ( also a VHF D/F steer) ((I bust a check ride 27 years ago because I had never heard of it)) Google VHF triangulation and you will get the drift.

The top of my antenna must be 6m above the waterline? Line of sight. Well at about 10 miles range I cant raise Stokesea any more. It only takes me about 20 minutes to leave him 10 miles behind. That 20 minutes though. It's a watched kettle thing!

You are reaching Stokesea. He is filtering His Incoming!

Roy cant multi task. He's either driving the boat or navigating. If he's navigating while the boat is driving all hell breaks loose.
I rediscovered the North Channel following him out of Conwy once. Quite unintentional. Then of course when I was still green and impressionable I used to follow him out. This is what my first outing with the clown was like!
