It is not beyond the wit of man to build out some fendering at water level and still have a grand view up top. Wonder how The Nab Tower would fare?

I can't help thinking that, on top of all the death and destruction, it must be currently a complete nightmare trying to manage the port (Italy's busiest according to one report I read). They've presumably lost the majority of their communications aerials and equipment, radar, etc., a significant proportion of the port control staff dead or injured, and part of the port effectively out of use/bounds.
