Ship aground on Bramble Bank

hmmm, AIS says Hazardous Class A.

Dunno what A is , as the classes run from 1 to 9; that's for trucks as well as shipping.

Any suggestions, or shall we just ask Zippy to try and get close and find out ?

EDIT

0115. Refloated.
"It is thought the grounding may have been intentional following a loss of power."

Nice to be able to park your boat on some convenient flattish sand when the donk stops :)

Perhaps Soton port might insist that these big vessels have a tug, if they are going to keep ramming the Brambles ?

They need to tighten the rules around external support i.e mandatory tugs on standby when sailing in the Solent in case this happens without the convenience of The Brambles close by to sit on whilst whatever problem gets sorted.
Imaging this breakdown happening close to the oil/gas terminal on Southampton water with a strong Easterly blowing...could be catastrophic.

Hazard class a is not a direct relation to imo hazard class which runs from 1to 9

The vast majority of ships will carry cargo that's considered hazardous, I would guess the classification is derived from the amount carried rather than just the nature. The manifest is not generally available unless there is a major problem (Msc flaminia back in 2012).

I have cargo due to load to this vessel so will try and find out what's happening with it.

APL Vanda is currently leaving Southampton to to regain her schedule.

latest update from operators to cargo interests

Following news on APL Vanda’s grounding at Southampton, please be informed that all checks and surveys have been completed on the vessel with satisfactory results and no damage found. The vessel remains seaworthy and will resume voyage with the next port of call at Hamburg on 18th February 2016, 0600 hour (local time).

They have advised they expect to make up the lost time on this rotation although i must admit i have my concerns.

For reference, this not the first grounding of an "Ultralarge" container ship. CSCL Indian Ocean was around in the River Elbe for several days last week...
