Shibaura diesel

Just got a little 2 cyl Shibaura but cant find a scrap of info on the net.Anyone know anything, like tappet settings etc ?Thank you

Shibaura are a partnership between Toshiba and IHI. IHI are a huge engineering firm who are best known for shipbuilding. They built most of P&O's Containers ships in the 1990's. I have no experience of the Shibaura range of tractor engines but the two parent companies are certainly known for quality.

Shibaura's website seems to suggest that they manufacture an engine which is badged (and presumably marinised) by Volvo Penta...

Yes, Shibaura build engines in a joint venture with Perkins and the engines are sold now as Volvos. Two main ranges the 20XX series that ran to 2006 and the D1 range that is current.
