Shetland -most suitable model

If you want to use the inboard on a river, I'd get a cheap spare prop, larger diameter, finer pitch and expendable as you may clout it on the bottom a few times!

You will also find a rudder helpful, you can buy them or just fashion something out of aluminium....

Cockpit space is going to be more important than cabin space yes. I’m learning a lot about the different models and lengths so will keep at it and see what would work best, think you’d be pretty much bang on though 21(ish) ft
Notice that one has the 4.2 mer cruiser which is a diesel I believe, any good or is the petrol the one to have.

Durley 245 who posts here has the moulds I believe. He's such a nice chap he would probably mould you one for not much more! Even if not he would be good for info.
Yes, I have the moulds for the family 4 , now the Quayline F4 . Its in production, and i am sold out for this year . Your welcome to contact via my website . P S . thanks stelican

No the diesel is the one to have - but add 10k to the purchase price!

They are both petrol - 3.p is 4 cyl, ok for pottering but underpowered in a 21ft boat for sea. The 4.2 is I suspect actually a 4.3 v6, much better. 5.0 or 5.7 are v8 - thirsty but very quick.

Try and get Eli or mph, more efficient, however again the cost will be higher, and on 21’ and above a duoprop or bravo3 drive is nice, but again adds cost....

For a starter boat, the v6 is a fine place to start, but yes, watch the tow weights

Oooh just noticed all the text "corrections" there!

4.3 is a petrol I meant.

And get MPi or EFi if you can - but again, it will add to the cost a lot sadly....
